How it works
We have a kids’ lesson prepared each for kiddos that come on Sunday morning! The lesson is adaptable for ages 4 to 12.
Kids will stay in the main service during the first few songs and announcements, but once the scripture starts to be read, they’ll go back to the kids’ room with our kids’ volunteers. Throughout the sermon time, kids will go through a story from the Bible, do a craft, and play a game. Once communion is done, the kids’ volunteers will bring the kids back into the service so they can finish worshipping with their families.
Kiddos are welcome to stay in service with their family the whole time if that is preferred!
Over 12 years old we ask that they would remain in service with you. For ages 2-3, you can have a conversation with the kids’ volunteers about what would work best for your family. We can also provide coloring sheets and crayons for kids during the service.
All kids’ volunteers have had a background check and have gone through a child sexual abuse training. There are always at least 2 volunteers with kids at all times to ensure your kid’s safety. If you have any questions regarding safety procedures or training for kids’ volunteers, please contact Ellen at ellen@ridgetopchurch.org.
Our curriculum
We use a curriculum called The Biggest Story.
It is described as “The Biggest Story leads readers on an exciting journey through the Bible, from the garden of Eden to the return of Christ. This fun curriculum based on the book draws kids into Scripture and helps them grasp its overarching message of redemption.”
Over the course of kiddos time at Ridgetop Church, they will walk through the whole story of the Bible in an age appropriate way. The story is read directly from The Biggest Story Bible Storybook with a craft and a theme that connects to the story. This is a Christ-centered curriculum that teaches children how the whole Bible is one cohesive story that points to Jesus.
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6
Discipleship begins early on in the lives of children. The most formative place to begin discipling little ones to follow Jesus is actually the home. We want to do all we can at Ridgetop to support you as you walk with Jesus and teach your kids how to walk with him too. If there is anything we can do for you or resources we can connect you with, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
For Babies and Moms
Babies are welcome to stay in service with moms. We love hearing the sounds of your little ones! We do have a room available with a livestream of the service if you would like to take your kiddo to a more quiet and private environment at any point in time throughout Sunday morning. This room has a TV with a livestream of the service, a pack and play, and a bathroom with a diaper-changing station. We also have folks available to care for your child, if you would like some uninterrupted time in the service. If you have any questions, please contact us.
