We live in a world that is obsessed with politics. Whether it’s kings and queens, prime ministers or presidents, who’s in charge and how they govern is a major concern. Things were no different in 1000 BCE in the nation of Israel. People wanted a king and believed that if they had one he would fight their battles and give them the peace they were searching for. Spoiler - their king (and his kingdom) were a disaster. Thankfully another King, whose highness was and is above all earthly sovereigns, powerfully works to accomplish his true, good, and beautiful purposes for Israel and the rest of humankind.
